Bleach Big Bang

So far I've received two drafts and given posting access to the authors and their artists, Posting is on May 28th and you can post any time during the day and I will approve them as I see them (if we're still on moderated posting...I'm not sure about that). If you want to post you have until midnight to e-mail me your final draft. My e-mail address is afteriwake23@gmail.com.

I sent a request to the two authors who are getting art by the one artist who claimed fics to send me copies of their fics. Please reply as soon as possible to my request. We're going to wait until tomorrow morning for someone to claim fic #2, so if you know anyone who is interested please direct them to this community.

Because we have one artist doing two stories, we're going to push back the posting date a bit. I have been asked to extend it to the end of May, and that's what I'm going to do. Posting will begin May 28th, 2012, which gives you just under a month to polish and finish your fics even if you aren't getting art. Since there's only four entries this round, everyone can post on the same day, so there should only be six posts.

I will be collecting final drafts from all authors by May 21st, 2012. I want to make sure they're all finished before the posting date.

I have three people who've done the poll and two fic summaries. Please remember to do both parts if you want your fic posted with art. If you don't want your fic to have art, please leave a comment to the poll so I know. Deadline is in two days: April 19th! I will be posting summaries on the 20th.

By now you guys should be mostly done or completely finished with your mini-bang fics. I will not be collecting rough drafts at this check-in, but I will be collecting the summaries that will be posted for the artists to choose from. If you do not check in you can not post a fic; if you check in but do not submit a summary you can still submit your fic but you do not get art.

I will be taking summaries via the comments to the check-in post. The comments will all be screened. To give you an example of what I'm looking for ahead of time so you can think about what you want it to say, I'm looking for summaries like this (completely fake) one:

Ichigo has to fight off a group of rogue Arrancar and is rescued by Ishida and Orihime. During the fight Ishida is injured, and Ichigo suggests they go to his home to heal him. While there things escalate into an arguement and Orihime is forced to choose who she likes more. Unable to choose, she suggests going on a date with each of them to see who she has feelings for most. Fic is rated PG.

If you have anything that would warrant a warning in your header, please make sure you list it because the artists will need to read your fic in order to make the art, and do not forget the rating or any pertinent pairings in the fic.

I will post the summaries with a number, and artists will pick one. Since we don't have enough artists to cover everyone's story, once each artist has claimed one fic I will open up the rest to claims if an artist wants to take a second fic. Remember that art can be a banner/header for the fic, a drawing of a scene, a fanmix with cover art or a fanvideo if you think you can make it work. Other types of art can be discussed with me via PM. Artists will get three days (the 20th - 23rd) to make their first claims.

So, there's been interest, and I decided, hey, why not go ahead and start early? So you guys get another ten extra days to write.

We are following most of the old rules in the previous round (and as always, we have a very tiny FAQ where you can ask questions), with the notice that there is only two check-ins, both of which are mandatory, and that you can write no less than 5K and no more than 10K. If that sounds good, writers and artists sign-ups will be in the next two posts. Normally we would also have beta/cheerleader but I decided since this will be so short I will leave you to find your own betas and/or cheerleaders.

Also, please advertise! The more the word gets out the better! I have a nifty (though very simple) banner you may use:

All right, guys, here's the first check-in poll! All you need to do is click the radio button next to the range where your new fic wordcount is at (ie, if you have a WIP, I want to know how many new words you wrote, not the total amount of words you have written). I know one of you checked in with me via PM already, but if you get a chance please answer this poll as well (or if I've already closed it, leave a comment with your wordcount).

This poll will close at some point on June 3rd, probably around noon PST. If you have not replied you will not be allowed to continue in this Big Bang.

Also, we could really use more artists, especially yaoi/yuri artists (since most people who are writing slash simply said slash, I'm erring on the side of caution). Artists sign-ups close at the next check-in, so pimp as much as you can for artists.
